L'Oreal UV sensor which eradicates skin cancer

The CES 2018 did mesmerizing advances in technology this year.

It's a bitter truth that too much exposure to ultraviolet light can harm the skin and increase the chance of skin cancer. As technology is enhancing every day, the Consumer Electronics Show(CES) went beyond expectations. To help reduce the side-effects of this exposure, recently a small UV wearable sensor is developed by L'Oreal called La Roche-Posay at CES that needs no battery, it gets attached to your thumbnail and communicates with your phone to tell how much sun and exposure you've had and warns you about overdoing it.

FEATURES:

  • 9 millimeters wide and less than 2 millimeters thick
  • Waterproof
  • Extremely small sensor
These are the various looks of UV sensor

This UV sensor is the first electronic sensor which is very compatible, can be easily attached to one's nail. It's reusable and re-adhesive.Its the blue dot on the person's fingernail. It can also be stuck on a watch or even a pair of sunglasses.

It does not require to be paired with wifi or Bluetooth, as it's just a sensor. It works for both Android and IOS  devices. Using NFC(Near Field Communication), the sensor can be connected to your phone and deliver data on sun exposure. It can provide advice and notifications based on the information about the habits as well as information about the day's temperature. One can check their UV exposure stats on the device and accordingly take the further step of not being more in the sun.

The goal of the sensors is to help the wearers be aware of the time they spend in the sun, minimize if necessary and protect their skin.
